Day 1 - Guwahati - Kohima
Arrive at Guwahati airport and once you have cleared the formalities, meet with our North East Explorers representative. Embark on a journey to Kohima, the wonderful capital of Nagaland; get an overview of the landscape as you drive through Assam's verdant flats and tea-gardens. Upon your arrival in Kohima - ensconced by Eastern Himalayan hills - check in to your hotel and take some rest after the long ride. Recharge yourself for tomorrow's expedition to Hornbill!
Day 02 - Kohima - Hornbill Festival Ground
As part of your second day, you will attend the Hornbill Festival opening ceremony at Kisama Heritage Village. The opening ceremony is known as the 'Festival of Festivals' in this region, which celebrates Naga culture, tradition, and heritage. Take pictures and enjoy the opening ceremony.
Day 03 - Kohima - Hornbill Festival Ground – Kohima
Heading towards the Kisama heritage village festival ground once again, you will be able to relish the festivities of the Hornbill Festival. From traditional performances and enactments that illustrate the history of the tribes, to savoury delicacies on offer, your experience today is sure to be one of a kind. Later this evening, take a trip to Kohima cathedral - Mary Help of Christians Cathedral is designed not in a Gothic style but rather based on traditional Naga house structures.
Day 04 - Kohima Local Tour - Khonoma – Kohima
In the morning, you'll head towards Khonoma, Asia's first green village, after enjoying a delicious breakfast. One of the most tragic, bloody and brutal wars in history is the World War II cemetery here, which is one of the most significant reminders of it. Your tour will continue with a drive through Khonoma's historic village, where you will see the local lifestyle and see its natural beauty for yourself.
Day 05 - Kohima to Mokokchung
Today, after your breakfast, the tour will become even more exciting. Today, you will be driven deeper into Nagaland to Mokochung. This remote Naga village is home to the AoNagas and their culture as well as a spectacular natural landscape. Mokochung's village areas are famous for numerous stories, myths, and bravery among local tribes.
Day 06 - Mokokchung - Guided tour of Naga villages

You will travel to Lungwa village today, one of Nagaland's remotest areas. It lies in Mon district and is famous for headhunters. Tourists may not have access to gadgets in this village as it is far away from the advancements of today. It's all about having a good time and living happily with all you have. If you visit this village, you will be surprised at how happy people can be, even without a basic necessity like electricity.
Day 08 – Longwa Local Tour
Today's trip is going to be very exciting. Getting to know the taboos of these head hunters will help you understand the reason they don't want you to forget about them. Head towards the village of the last surviving head hunters and talk to them. Don't worry about the language, because our local guides will speak with them. Imagine the exact situation when they used to chop off the heads of their enemies and bring them back to their village for festivities.
You can visit the Konyak Naga King (Angh) later in the day. This palace is divided into two countries, India and Myanmar. Only the king is permitted to sit on the Myanmar side, and others are forbidden to go there. You will be driven back to your hotel in Naga after this tiring and exciting trip today. Day 09 – Longwa to Jorhat
This today you will drive back to the plains of Assam. Reach Jorhat in the afternoon. Then you will visit the historic sites of the Ahom kingdom. This kingdom started flourishing back in the 13th century by the banks of Brahmaputra and successfully maintained their sovereignty for 600 years and successfully resisted the mighty Mughals into the north-east.
Day 10 – Jorhat to Guwahati
