Gokarna is primarily a pilgrimage center with a great number of pilgrims go to visit the Mahabaleshwara temple and take Lord Shiva’s blessings. Of late, the Gokarna beaches, mainly Om beach have been welcoming a lot of sea lovers. The natural setting and the rustic ambiance of Gokarna attract tourists who also look for some quiet time with themselves.

The shape of the Om beach is quite unique. It resembles the shape of an ‘Om’ symbol. The sand is golden and there are some rocks lying on the beaches too making it even more beautiful. You can participate in some exciting beach activities on the Om beach. You can go for a banana boat ride over the blue waves of the Arabian Sea, you can join beach camps here and go for a night stroll around the shore.

On a night walk, you can also spot a few shining phytoplanktons amidst the waves. The magical view of the shining phytoplanktons in the darkness is once in a lifetime experience.

Many love going for a beach trek covering Om Beach, Kudle Beach, Half Moon Beach, and Paradise Beach. The trek unfurls newer vistas of the Gokarna. After a tiring day, you can also head over to Kudle Beach for viewing one of the amazing sunsets on the western coast of India.
