- Key or Ki-Gompa
Ki-Gompa is the largest monastery located in Lahaul and Spiti. It was founded in the 11th Century. Its location upon a height of over 4000 meters offers breathtaking views of the valleys and the river flowing below.
- Dhankar Gompa
Dhankar Gompa is located above a cliff upon the confluence of Pin and Spiti Rivers. There’s a village surrounding the monastery. It features as one of the hundred endangered monuments in the world and steps are taken to conserve the monastery.
- Tabo Gompa
Tabo Monastery was founded in 996 CE and is considered as the oldest operating Buddhist institution in the Himalayas and India. It contains a rare collection of Buddhist Thangkas, Manuscripts, Statues and frescoes.
- Kunzum Pass and Chandrataal
It is one of the highest motorable passes in the Himalayas. The road is challenging but the scenic beauty around the area is unforgettable. You can also take the road towards Chandra Taal from the Kunzum Pass, walk or drive to reach the serene blue lake. The water is crystal clear here and you won’t know how your time will pass by.
- Pin Valley National Park
This park is the natural habitat of the endangered snow leopards and Siberian ibex. The trees are rare because of the extreme temperatures. Quite a few rare birds can be spotted here.
