Idukki in Kerala is an enchanting place that unfurls its real beauty to the trekkers here. A place called Vagavanam near hill station Vagamon is the destination of Idukki trekking.
The day trek to Vagavanam is an amazing trail among the Idukki district trekking trails in Kerala.
You need to start early morning from Vadavukadu (Idukki Arch Dam Wildlife Sanctuary) and head towards Kumarikulam. While walking, you can stop at the Forest watchtower. The view from the Forest watchtower is awe-inspiring.
The vistas you can enjoy while walking through the trail can make your trekking in Idukki less tiring as you approach towards Vagavanam through Chillalukattu Hills. The steady climb up the Chillalukattu Hills can be tedious in the beginning but as you scale up, the view of Vagavanam along with the Kulamavu reservoir will light you up.
The winds start blowing a bit stronger up in Vagavanam but it soothes the tiredness out of you. There’s a chance to spot the elephants that freely roam in the remote corners of Vagavanam if you are fortunate enough.
As you relax after finishing the trek with a cup of refreshing hot tea, you can marvel at the sights around you, evergreen and comforting.
